Terms of Service

By accessing or using Narrative Lion ("Service," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on the Service and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

Narrative Lion is an AI-powered knowledge workspace that provides note-taking, AI-generated content creation, chat assistance, and text-to-speech features. The Service uses artificial intelligence technologies, including large language models provided by third-party providers, to generate and process content.

To use the Service, you must create an account using Google authentication. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
• Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4.1 Plans and Pricing

The Service offers free and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed on a recurring monthly or annual basis. Current pricing is available on our pricing page.

4.2 Auto-Renewal

Paid subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle (monthly or annually, depending on your plan) unless you cancel before the renewal date. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.

4.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing section of your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access to paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for.

4.4 Refunds

All payments are non-refundable, except where required by applicable law. If you believe you have been charged in error, please contact us at info@narrativelion.com.

4.5 Price Changes

We may change our subscription prices from time to time. Price changes will take effect at the start of the next billing cycle following notice of the change.

4.6 Usage Packs

In addition to subscription plans, we may offer one-time usage packs that provide additional usage credits. Usage packs are non-refundable and subject to expiration as described at the time of purchase.

5.1 Ownership

You retain all rights to the content you create, upload, or input into the Service ("User Content"). We do not claim ownership of your User Content.

5.2 License to Us

By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service. We will not use your User Content to train artificial intelligence models.

5.3 Your Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for your User Content. You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights to your User Content and that it does not violate any applicable laws or third-party rights.

6.1 Nature of AI Content

The Service uses artificial intelligence, including large language models and text-to-speech services provided by third parties, to generate content. You acknowledge and agree that:

• AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or outdated information
• AI-generated content should not be relied upon as professional, legal, medical, or financial advice
• You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and editing all AI-generated content before use
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or suitability of AI-generated content

6.2 Intellectual Property of AI Outputs

AI-generated outputs are provided to you "as-is." We make no representations regarding the intellectual property status of AI-generated content. Under current law, purely AI-generated content may not be eligible for copyright protection. You assume all risk associated with your use of AI-generated content.

6.3 No Training on Your Data

We do not use your User Content or your interactions with the Service to train AI models. Your data is sent to third-party AI providers solely for the purpose of generating responses to your requests, in accordance with those providers' API terms of service.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Generate, store, or distribute content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
• Generate content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others
• Generate spam, phishing materials, malware, or other malicious content
• Misrepresent AI-generated content as human-created in contexts where such disclosure is required by law
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits, access controls, or security measures
• Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the Service
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have violated this Acceptable Use Policy.

The Service, including its design, features, code, and branding, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or other brand features.

The Service integrates with third-party services, including Google (authentication) and Stripe (payment processing), as well as other providers for AI content generation, hosting, and text-to-speech. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any content generated by the Service will be accurate or reliable.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

Our total aggregate liability for all claims related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your User Content, your use of AI-generated content, or your violation of these Terms.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including but not limited to Sections 10, 11, 12, and 14.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of the Province of Ontario, Canada.

• Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in effect.
• Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
• Waiver: Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
• Assignment: You may not assign your rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights without restriction.
